My name is Amber Barry, founder and owner of The Kinetic K9. I’ve been training dogs professionally since 2010, but this work didn’t start as a career—it started as a necessity.
Years ago, I was living with a German Shepherd displaying serious, unsafe behaviors. I know what it feels like when your life starts revolving around your dog—every movement, every outing, every decision. The isolation. The frustration. The embarrassment. And at times, the fear.
I’ve lived the reality that many owners quietly struggle with. The Kinetic K9 was built with one clear goal: to restore the relationship between dogs and their humans through calm, clear communication. Not control. Not gimmicks. Real understanding.
Through our system, I want owners to know this: there is hope. You don’t have to structure your entire life around managing behavior. Freedom—for you and your dog—is possible.
I’m a Certified Dog Trainer and behavior specialist, with a focus on dogs struggling with complex and undesirable behaviors. I continue my education through ongoing seminars, hands-on training events, and collaboration with other professionals. I’ve hosted leash-handling seminars for both dog owners and shelters, volunteered with rescue organizations, worked with foster dogs to rehabilitate and rehome them successfully, and collaborated closely with trainers throughout the region. I’ve also been a guest on the radio alongside an internationally recognized trainer.
The video above shares more about my journey, my philosophy, and how this work came to be.
This isn’t theory. It’s lived experience.
And it’s the foundation of everything I do.
